Why the name Singletrack?

Some of you may be wondering why I picked the name "Singletrack" for my blog title. Well, I wanted a title that described me. For those of you who don't know, single-track is a term used in mountain biking. Although I love mountian biking, I also chose it to describe my purpose in life and the way my mind works at times. Here is the definition of a single-track from my good friends at wikipedia:

Sin*gle-track [sing-guh l-track] - a narrow mountian biking trail that is approximately the width of the bike. In addition it is frequently smooth and flowing, but it may also exhibit technical rocky sections and may be criss-crossed with tree roots. Singletrack riding can be quite challenging.

Mountain biking has grown to become a hobby of mine. It goes well with my love for the outdoors and sense of adventure. I also love this definition because, in a way, it describes my life as a narrow trail that is frequently smooth but also has its rocky, technical sections that present a challenge. I also see myself as having a one-track mind at times. Once I get my mind set on something, I have the tendency to run full force into it. If I don't find a place to stop and reflect, this singletrackness can be problematic...which is one of the reasons for this blog. The term singletrack also explains my purpose. I am on one track with one purpose, to glorify Christ in all that I do.
